About The Teacher

Hello, my name is Darren Pugh, the founder and teacher of Zenergie Meditation.

My background in the martial arts, being mainly kick-boxing and Karate led me to the more sophisticated art of Tai Chi in the mid nineties.

Training in Tai Chi and Chi Kung (energy work) awakened me to the importance and benefits of having a calm mind and a relaxed body, which would then result in me getting into meditation in a big way.

I studied and practised many of the traditional forms of meditation, including the Taoist practices of ancient China, as well as becoming a student of transcendental meditation and also training in a plethora of various mind/body wellness practices.

I took the most effective and simplified elements of what I had learnt in those early years to create the Zenergie Meditation technique.

This is the same technique that I have practised twice a day, for the best part of twenty years.

The origins of Zenergie Meditation are steeped in ancient Eastern wisdom and tradition, but without any “woo woo” mysticism or having to sit cross legged.

It is the perfect tool for modern busy people to cultivate and maintain their natural state of calm and aliveness on a daily basis.

Meditation transformed every aspect of my own life in remarkable ways, and it soon became my passion.

As a certified teacher with the British School of Meditation, I have taught people from all walks of life how to meditate, from busy Mums to corporate high flyers, and I feel truly blessed to be able to add so much value to peoples lives by sharing this profoundly effective wellness practice.

I’m also a certified Tai Chi instructor as well as being a self confessed personal development geek.

I have over many years now trained and studied with some great teachers and trainers in the fields of personal growth and human potential.

I have devoured a mountain of books, programmes and courses, as well as having attended numerous workshops, seminars, events and retreats spanning nearly two decades.

Its been a fascinating journey of enlightenment, and I’ve been lucky to have made some great friends along the way,

Although.. In my humble opinion, and also that of many teachers and trainers in the world of personal development…

A daily meditation practice is the foundation for personal and professional transformation

Meditation is how you “free yourself up” from stress, anxiety, limiting beliefs, and dis-empowering self talk- to create the space for more calm, clarity, and a wider and fresh perspective of what is actually possible for you.

I occasionally dabble as a musician.. Originally as a drummer but also as a budding guitarist, and I’m currently rather excited about taking my first tentative steps into the world of blogging, and sharing what I hope will be some inspiring, informative and valuable content.

Maintaining a fair level of physical fitness and flexibility play an important role in my life, and as well as my daily Tai Chi practice, I also enjoy a bit of Yoga, getting out for lush walks in nature, and my own personal workout routine.
